When
twelve-year-old Sophie Williams went on a Girl Scout summer camp, she
never returned home.
Three
months later, her body is found inside her sleeping bag in the most
frequented area of Cocoa Beach, and the town is outraged.
The
girl isn't just any child. She's the town's most beloved surf idol,
and it was believed that she could be the next Kelly Slater.
As
another child, the son of a well-known senator is kidnapped, and the
parents receive a disturbing video, FBI profiler Eva Rae
Thomas — who has just returned to her hometown, divorced
and out of a job — plunges into the investigation, breaking her
promise to her children not to do police work again.
Local
law enforcement, with her old flame Matt Miller in charge, are the
ones who ask for her help in a case so unsettling that only she can
solve it. But the deeper they dig, the deadlier it becomes for Matt
and Eva Rae. Soon, everyone she holds dear is in grave danger as this
case hits a little too close to home.
DON’T
LIE TO ME is the first book in the Eva Rae Thomas Mystery
Series and can be read as a standalone.

Juliet
grew up in northern California, where she spent her free time staring
at spooky lakes and making up stories about the old buildings
surrounding them. Years later, she still lives in California and she
still makes up spooky stories...about lakes and the old buildings
surrounding them. Like April in April's Ghosts, she's terrified of
spiders and she's obsessed with Hamilton. Like Lissa in June's Blood,
she plays the piano...but not very well.
A
young boy. An old man. And a journey of the heart.
A
middle aged man, Jeffrey Conley, has obsessive interests, including a
fascination with death and the process of dying and a fetish for the
sound of a woman's heartbeat. His wife, Lisa, encourages him to get
help. His psychologist diagnoses him as having Asperger's Syndrome, a
mild condition on the Autism spectrum. When his granny dies, Jeffrey
returns to Tennessee for her funeral, and then walks the same field
he walked with his granddaddy as a child. On that cold, late November
day, Jeffrey walks toward The Thicket, an outcropping of trees and
vines from the woods adjoining the field that crossed the fence and
are invading the field. In that special place he and Granddaddy would
sit and talk as Jeffrey swung on vines or sipped cola. The middle
aged Jeffrey looks back to that time, to the summer of his ninth
year, an idyllic year and a terrible year, a year of joy, a year of
loss and grief. Will Jeffrey Conley be able to discover and
understand his struggles by this journey back into his past. While
remembering Sunday dinners with relatives, hunting rabbits with his
granddaddy, or visiting the town square, Jeffrey rediscovers pain and
the worst loss of his life. Will he be able to make sense of his
life, his past, his obsessions, his faith? Or will he sink into
despair, The Thicket becoming a place of pain rather than redemption?
That is the fundamental problem of the book.

In
this enticing collection of more than 80 recipes inspired by the
flavours of Greece and Cyprus, MasterChef UK’s Theo Michaels pays
homage to his family heritage, championing traditional dishes and
sharing his own modern cooking.
Presenting
a feast for the eyes as well as the tastebuds, his fresh and
delicious food is organized into chapters entitled Meze, Sea, Land,
Sun, Fire and Sundowners, evoking the Greek way of life.
You
too can eat like a Greek by celebrating simplicity, seasonality,
abundance, healthy balance and most importantly, the joy of sociable
eating.
Beautiful
food sings from these pages: from juicy watermelon, glossy kalamata
olives, to fragrant oregano-roasted meats and delicate fish wrapped
in vine leaves. Choose a selection of mouth-watering dips and sharing
plates to create a Cypriot-style meze; enjoy the freshest fish and
seafood, perfectly grilled or fried and served with nothing more than
a dusting of salt flakes and a squeeze of lemon juice to season; cook
tender yogurt-marinated lamb on skewers over charcoal and wrap it in
fluffy homemade pita to experience souvlaki at home; or whip up
vibrant vegetable and pulse dishes, from cracked wheat pourgouri to
slow-cooked fasolia beans. Finally, make rich Greek desserts the
sweet note to end your meal; serve just enough syrup-drenched baklava
with a bitter black coffee to satisfy that craving or unwind with an
Ouzo Sour or Brandy Sunburn Cocktail.

Grimm Investigations open.
That
